Job description

About CouponFollow:

Established in 2010 and acquired by System1 (NYSE:SST) in 2022, CouponFollow is a fast-growing, international product company with a headquarters in NY. With over 10 million monthly users, our two primary savings tools, the CouponFollow site and the Cently browser extension, have helped save shoppers over $400+ million by intelligently finding coupons, discovering deals, and earning rewards.

We're a truly global team of almost 100 people, with our engineering talent located primarily in Poland, but also in Pakistan and the Philippines, and our business team based in the U.S. We thrive in a remote-first culture, while still enjoying occasional in-person meetups. Additionally, our cozy office in Toruń, Poland, provides a hub for collaborative events.

About the Role and Your Impact:

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our seven distributed engineering teams. The future team includes five senior backend engineers (your future direct reports), a Product Manager and a Scrum Master - all based in Poland.

Your team develops and maintains internal tools that deliver offers and written content to our websites. The team's main tech stack includes .NET and Azure, with increasing use of AI APIs.

In this role, your primary focus will own the engineering team’s goals, technology choices, delivery outcomes, and overall quality. You will ensure that the team builds scalable, reliable systems and executes effectively against product and business objectives. You’ll provide clear technical direction, remove obstacles, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

While you’re still expected to contribute to the codebase when needed, your largest impact will come from setting strong engineering standards, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery. You will also be responsible for growing and supporting engineers through mentorship, coaching, and traditional management practices - helping each team member develop their skills, advance their careers, and do their best work.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with the Product Manager to define and deliver roadmaps, priorities, and planning.

  • Champion pragmatic delivery. Guide the team in balancing speed-to-market with engineering excellence, making calculated trade-offs based on business context.

  • Collaborate closely with other seasoned engineering leaders to shape technical roadmaps and guide architectural decisions in response to product requirements.

  • Work side by side with key stakeholders in the U.S., which means joining afternoon or early evening calls on average about twice a week to stay aligned across time zones.

  • Ensure clear communication and alignment between your team and other stakeholders.

  • Balance business priorities with long-term technical health by helping manage tech debt.

  • Support the team in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable systems in .NET and Azure.

  • Lead and mentor a group of senior engineers - fostering ownership, growth, and engagement. Act as hiring manager for new engineers and conduct performance reviews.

  • Proactively identify and remove blockers to keep projects moving efficiently.

  • Partner with the Scrum Master to maintain effective agile processes (Scrum/Scrumban).

  • Coordinate cross-team initiatives to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective communication.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain uptime and reliability.

What We Offer:

  • B2B contract with a U.S.-based company

  • Remote-first work environment

  • Flexible working hours

  • Hourly rate: $40-50 + FX Bonus (quarterly PLN–USD adjustment program, up to 4 PLN = 1 USD)

  • 10 days (80 hours) of paid Recharge Days  per year

  • Annual performance bonus

  • $1,000 annual training budget

  • All necessary equipment and software licenses provided

  • Friendly, collaborative culture — we’re no longer a startup, but not quite a corporation either

  • Annual Company Summit, local meetups, and internal learning sessions

  • Modern technologies and plenty of room to innovate

  • Flat structure — your ideas and input make a real difference.

Job requirements

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in leading and managing software engineering teams.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a senior .NET developer.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills — you connect the dots across teams and time zones.

  • Fluent in English and Polish (at least C1).

  • Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.

  • Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, Scrumban).
